Music with Ms. Carissa is jumping into the New Year by hosting a workshop at the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC) Early Childhood Conference in Grand Rapids, MI! On Saturday April 2nd, 2011 educators, families and government officials will gather from all over the country to attend a variety of workshops ranging in topics from creative activities to advocacy. In addition to three days of interactive and educational workshops, MiAEYC also allows presenters to share their merchandise at an expansive market place. Those interested in Early Childhood Education and Advocacy will have a plethora of opportunities to purchase new teaching materials, including the first Music with Ms. Carissa album!
The Music with Ms. Carissa workshop will inform participants about the importance of including music in their daily schedules, with children of all ages whether it is in the classroom environment or at home. Those in attendance will be moving and grooving to some of Carissa’s original tunes as well as some rocking renditions of childhood classics! We’ll hop like frogs during “The Go To Sleep Game” and celebrate how special we are while rhyming along with “I Love Me.” We will also talk about how to adapt certain songs and activities to ease transitions, work with children of varying ages and engage even the most challenging children! Music with Ms. Carissa covers all the bases when it comes to developmentally appropriate practice. Be ready to rock all year long as Music with Ms. Carissa shows Michigan that learning is “not so elementary!” As the MiAEYC saying goes, “early years are learning years!” Music with Ms. Carissa is ready to prove just that!
