“Not So Elementary”

Carissa Knoles has been strumming to the beat of her own song since the young age of 14. When a “guitar-playing” crush told her girls couldn’t play guitar, she went out and bought one the next day, and has been playing ever since. Carissa has always had a passion for writing poetry, which inspires her songwriting. This spunky, new musician has a knack for writing witty lyrics that appeal to both children and adults. Carissa received her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development from the University of Michigan. She enjoys writing children’s songs combining music and movement to encourage healthy growth and development. For the mature crowd, many of Carissa’s lyrics are quirky love ballads and songs about the everyday dramas of being a female in a male-minded world.

Carissa is currently working on material for her upcoming children’s album soon to be released by Dream Town Media.
